LAYOUT

We have carefully developed the layout of the scheme to respond sensitively to its surroundings as well as early feedback received from Officers at East Cambridgeshire District Council. The proposals will deliver a high-quality new care home that is sympathetic to the local architectural style, utilizing the whole site to deliver a low-rise development of one and two-storeys in height. The building will form a U-shape around the formal landscaped gardens, providing a pleasant outlook for each of the bedrooms and a secure internal garden space.

LANDSCAPING

We are proposing a comprehensive and high-quality landscape strategy that would seek to preserve and enhance the existing mature trees with further planting. The proposals have been carefully designed to maximise landscaped garden amenity space within the centre of the site, whilst also protecting the important trees and vegetation along the boundaries.

DESIGN

The chosen design utilizes buff brick and dark roof tile, to deliver a scheme with a pleasant, quiet residential character.

We carefully selected these materials to match the materiality of existing residential properties in the local area.

This was key focus of the design process, as we sought to ensure that our building is ultimately in keeping with the character of the local area.
