ABOUT THE SITE
Our site is Land to the North of Ely Sailing Club, a greenfield site approximately 1.3 hectares in size. It is located to the east of Prickwillow Road and the west of the railway line. Ely Sailing Club and Roswell Pits sailing lake lie to the south of the site. The site is of a green character in a scenic setting adjacent to Roswell Pits and will offer the elderly a pleasant setting to reside in.
The site is well located within walking distance of Ely and the shops, services and amenities it offers, sitting just outside of the existing residential settlement boundary. The site is also serviced by reasonable transport links, with bus routes transiting Prickwillow Road to the south of the site, and National Rail services from Ely Railway Station.
While future care home residents will likely not utilise the surrounding amenities and services, the location of the site, and its accessibility, remains of importance to staff and visitors alike.
Our vision is to deliver a much-needed care home that will deliver significant benefits to the community of Ely and respond to a current shortage of care home beds in the area.
We will achieve this vision through the provision of a sympathetically designed low-rise building that complements the local area and is sensitive to the important Roswell Pits Nature Reserve and Site of Special Scientific Interest, delivering landscaping and biodiversity benefits.
